SRI JAYACHAMARAJENDRA COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING Established in 1963 as SJCE has 12 departments in engineering, a Master of Computer Applications department. It was affiliated to the VTU, Belgaum, but now it's a Constituent College of JSS Science and Technology University from 2016 - 2017 academic year. SJCE is accredited by the AICTE.

The inception of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CS&E) was one among the first to be established in the State of Karnataka in the year 1982. Our mission is to create ideas that deepen and advance our understanding of the realm of Computer Science and Engineering and with those ideas to develop innovative, principled, and insightful leaders who changed the world. Classes are conducted on a full-time and on a part-time basis in an intimate-scale environment.
The Department of Information Science & Engineering was established in the year 2000. The department offers two undergraduate program B.E in Information Science and Engineering started in the year 2000, B.E in Computer Science & Business Systems (CSBS) started in the year 2019 and two postgraduate programs M.Tech in Software Engineering started in the year 1995 and M.Tech in Data Science started in the year 2017. The students of the department have a good placement record of more than 90%
The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established in 1968 .The department offers an undergraduate program in Electronics and Communication Engineering, three PG programs namely M.Tech in Industrial Electronics, M.Tech in Network and Internet Engineering and M.Tech in Automotive Electronics. In addition to these, it also offers Ph.D. program which provide a platform for bright graduates and postgraduates to conduct research in state-of-the-art technologies. The department is composed of well-qualified teaching and technical staff with good retention.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in the year 1963. The department offers one Under graduate and one post graduate programs. B.E. in Mechanical Engineering has an intake of 120 students, M.Tech in Maintenance Engineering with an intake of 12 students. The Department offers research programmes leading to M.Sc.(Engg) and Ph.D. The Department has qualified and experienced faculty, 8 with doctoral degrees.
The Department of Polymer Science and Technology (PST) was established during 1987-88. It is the only department in the state of Karnataka offering engineering degree in PST (UG, PG, PhD). Department practices outcome based education in the domain of Polymeric materials to impart the science required for engineering skills to develop useful technology in terms of its chemistry, synthesis, blending, compounding, compositing, processing, testing, characterization, recycling.

The institution features three auditoriums, each with the required audio-visual equipment.
The college has separate laboratories for basic science, All the laboratories are adequately equipped as per the University norms.
The College Library is the hub of learning with a rich collection of books, e-books, standard reference sources and other audio-visual material.
